Tatsuya wakes up with a groan. His head is pounding and his body aches although not as bad as last night. Since he’s a vampire, he heals a lot faster than human. Suddenly he bolts up from where he is lying. This certainly wasn’t his bed, heck it is not even his room. He is wondering where is he when he heard someone opens the door. When he looks up, there’s a man leaning against the door with a towel in hand.

“So, sleeping beauty finally decides to wake up.” The man says. That voice, Tatsuya whisper to himself. At that moment, memory of last night come flooded to him.  

Flashback

“Well, here we are.” Tomoyo says as she steps out from the car. Tatsuya also doing the same from the driver seat of his new silver Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. This car is actually a present from the leader of Quartz clan for his 525th birthday that year. Well, more like trying to win Tatsuya’s attention so that he takes notice at one of the Quartz clan leader’s daughters. Not that it make any different to Tatsuya. After all, the other clan leaders also give him expensive gifts.

“Wow Tomoyo, you sure know how to pick a club. This place is awesome.”Kazuya says, stepping out from the car that he rides with Tomohisa. He looks in amazement at the club which full of people lining up to get in. Even from the car park, they can hear the music blazing out, attracting people to the club. Tomohisa nods in agreement. He also amazed by the fact that his sister manages to find the club. After locking up his black Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, they start to walk to the club front door.

The people that have been lining up to enter the club could only watch in astonish as the four of the vampire royalty walk past them. They could only wonder who these three handsome young men and a gorgeous young lady are. Not only they are gorgeous, they are also very stylish and seem to be very rich. Once they reach at the front door, Tomoyo show her special member card. Once they in the club and are seated at the one of the VIP booth, Tomohisa turns to his sister inquiringly.

“How did you get the VIP club member card?” Tomohisa asks. Tomoyo just smiles. “That’s for me to know and for you to find out.” Then, a waitress come and takes their orders. She gives them a flirtatious smile but all of them just ignore her and continue with their chatter. The waitress just storm off angrily.

“Tat-chan let us go and dance. The song is so catchy and I wanna dance.” Tomoyo whines. Tatsuya just shrug and stand, letting Tomoyo leads him to the dance floor. Once on the dance floor, both of them start dancing sexily. Soon enough, many people stop and just stare at their sexy form. Not wanting their prince and best friends to be the center of attention, both Tomohisa and Kazuya also join them. And the people around them start to dance too. Kazuya give Tomoyo a wink and Tomoyo winks back. Tomoyo, Tomohisa and Kazuya know how Tatsuya hates to be the center of attention.

After a few songs and changing partner between the four of them, suddenly a guy tries to cut in between Tomoyo and Tatsuya. At first they ignore that guy but the guy seem too stubborn for his own good.  Irritate with the persistent of that guy when obviously Tomoyo nor Tatsuya did not want him to cut in, they stop dancing and went back to their private booth. That guy just huffs in anger when Tomoyo clearly paying no attention to him. In his eyes, he swore revenge on them.

“What is that guy problem? Can’t he see that I’m not interested in him? Geez, what a loser?” Tomoyo complains. Tatsuya just chuckled lightly.

“Now, that guy, he’s yummy. Hmm, maybe I can ask him to dance with me.” Tomoyo says gesturing at one of the guy that sitting at the bar. The guy that caught Tomoyo attention is talking to his two friends but we can see it in his eyes that he is also eying Tomoyo.

“Then, why don’t you go and dance with him. I think he will not decline a dance proposal from a pretty lady like you.” Tatsuya says.

“But Tat-chan, I don’t want to leave you alone. You might be bored and Pi and Kazuya is too caught up with each other’s presence.” Tomoyo exclaim.

“Don’t worry about me, Tomo. Just go and enjoy yourself. I don’t mind being alone. In fact I’m going to go out to catch a bit of fresh air. And if I don’t come back by the time you guys want to go home, that means I’m going home first, ok. So, just go. Don’t mind me.” Tatsuya says. Tomoyo still don’t look convinced to leave him alone. “Just go, Tomo. I’m ok. I can take care of myself, you know or have you forgotten about that?” Tatsuya asks. Tomoyo just shook her head to indicate that she hadn’t forgotten. “Then, what are you waiting for? Go and get him.” Tatsuya push Tomoyo toward the guy, to assure that he is ok with it. With one last look at Tatsuya, Tomoyo then approach the guy.

Tatsuya watch Tomoyo approach the guy with a sigh. He knows that human always fascinates Tomoyo. Sometimes she is like a kid with candies when she’s with the things that interest her and human also one of her favorite things to study. He just hopes that Tomoyo won’t fall in love with her subject because the love between vampire and human are forbidden. Then he looks at Kazuya and Tomohisa who seem to be so engrossed with each other. He really wishes he will find a love like that. Sometimes he feels jealous towards their relationship. After a while, he walks out from the club. The atmosphere in the club suffocates him. He just needs to get out from there and get some fresh air.

He walks at the back street behind the club. Suddenly he hears footsteps, his senses scream for him to leave the street but he refuses to listen to it. He just continues walking and then he can hear more footsteps coming toward him. When he turns around, he notices that he is being surrounded by more than 30 people. He tries to surpass his groan from escaping his mouth. He knows he can take them all, but it will draw too much attention. Then he sees a man standing at the middle smiling maliciously at him. He recognizes him. It’s the jerks that try to interfere when he was dancing with Tomoyo. Ah, so this is his revenge. I know he’s planning something from the look that he gave us, but to resort to this, man, he really is a loser, Tatsuya thinks.      

With a cry, those punks start to take charge at Tatsuya. Expertly, he manages to avoid the attack and also knock up quite a good number of them. But unexpectedly, one of them hit him with a baseball bat at the back of his head. He stumbles a bit and continues fighting but they just keep on coming and hitting him. Even with his super strength, he can’t take on 20 people without drawing the attention towards him. He knew the hunter is active back again, searching and eliminating his kin. If he uses one of his powers, not only they will detect him, but also he will endanger his friends that are still in the club. No, I won’t use my power; he says to himself, I can take care of myself. But even as a vampire, taking those punches from 20 people starting to take a toll on him especially he can’t do anything to protect himself. The last thing he hears before he passed out is a voice yelling about the police that coming into the alley. Then he knew no more.    

End of Flashback

Tatsuya look at the man in front of him. “You’re the one who was yelling about the police, weren’t you?” He asks. The man just nods before handing him the towel in his hand. “Here, you could use this. I’m sure you want to take a shower anyway. After that scene yesterday, I would say that you really need one.” “Thanks.” Tatsuya murmurs, as the man show him the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, he quickly checks himself in the mirror. Satisfy that none of the injury will leave him a scar and healing quite nicely, he took a quick shower. Contrary to popular believe which say that the vampire doesn’t have a reflection in the mirror, which is actually not true. Well, not completely. Those who were born as a vampire are the only ones that have a reflection in the mirror; while those who turned into vampires don’t have reflection. While not all vampire that turned are bad, but usually the one that always cause trouble are from this group. Those who born vampire usually from the elite group and they also like to lay low, not going around causing trouble.  

“Thank you for saving me.” Tatsuya says, as he walks to the man who has save him. “But I must be going now. My friends must be worried.” More like Kazuya will be franticly pacing and Pi will try to calm him down while Tomo just rolled her eyes at Kazu’s antic but once I get home, I’m sure will get an earful lectures from Tomo. Why are they so protective? Tatsuya shudder at the thought.  After giving the man a bow of gratitude, Tatsuya walks to the door to go home.

“Wait! Don’t you want to know the name of your savior?” The man asks. Tatsuya just raises his eyebrow inquiringly.  “Well, since you mention it, I am a bit curious of who you are.” Tatsuya says. “Well, the name is Nishikido Ryo. Nice to meet you. And you are…?”

“Tatsuya. I thank you again for your hospitality but I really need to get going.” Tatsuya walks through the door before he turns to face Ryo, “May we never meet again for it will only bring you trouble.” With that, Tatsuya completely vanish from Ryo’s sight. Ryo could only stare in shock at the close door.
